Bright Apple Award for Educational Excellence 2009

Lake Forest School District 115 has earned the 2009 Bright Apple Award for Educational Excellence. Lake Forest School District 115 is among 81 Illinois school districts that were recently awarded the SchoolSearch 2009 Bright Red Apple Award for educational excellence. The award is given annually to only 10% of Illinois’ school districts, and this marks the 16th time District 115 has won the distinguished award and the 16th consecutive year that the district has received the honor. The Bright Red Apple recipients excel in the following five areas, which are considered primary areas of interest for relocating families that are searching for quality schools: Academic performance, Pupil/teacher ratio, Operating expenditure per pupil, Educational level of teachers, Average teacher salary. All 868 Illinois school districts were considered for the award and data from the Illinois School Report Card was used for district comparisons.
