LFHS Art Department Congratulates Scholarship Winners at Art Institute of Chicago Tea February E-Highlights 2011

The Lake Forest – Lake Bluff Associates of the Art Institute of Chicago hosted their 41st annual tea at the Knollwood Club on January 19, 2011. The tea included a lecture entitled “An Investigation of How state of the art scientific analysis shed light on the materials and methods of Pablo Picasso” given by Art Institute senior conservation scientist, Francesca Casadio. The event helps to fund the scholarships given to art students at both North Chicago High School and Lake Forest High School.

The scholarship winners are awarded a summer course at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Our winners last year were Molly Bennett and Natalie Murawski. Natalie was present at the tea and is featured in the photograph with Associates president Helen Chan, and senior conservation scientist of the Art Institute, Francesca Casadio.  Also pictured are vases painted by Lake Forest High School students Olivia Nguyen, Natalie Murawski, Elise Terlato, Anna Schwartz and Kirsten Warkow that were filled with flowers and used as beautiful centerpieces for the luncheon.
