Paratriathlon Club "Dare2Tri" Logo April E-Highlights
2011
This winter, GLASA (the Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Assoc.) paired
up with the Chicago Park District and the Chicago Triathlon Club
to form a Chicago-area paratriathlon club (Tri club for individuals
with physical disabilities). Paratriathlon was recently
approved as a sport in the 2016 Rio de Janiero Olympic Games.
The local club is called "Dare2Tri", and is headed by Keri
Schindler from GLASA. Schinder, whom we've worked with on the
Wheelchair Sports USA Project and National Junior Disability Championships
over the past two years, is a triathlete herself. Specifically,
the LFHS Graphic Design 3 students
each submitted three logos based on the client's brief. Ciara
Connell's (soph.)
logo was chosen after two rounds of eliminations. Here is
what Schindler has to say about the logo:
"GLASA and Dare2tri are thrilled to be working
with the talented graphic design students at Lake Forest HS for
our logo design again. The
students, under the direction of Carolyn Bielski, turned out wonderful
choices for us to pick our club logo from. We are so appreciative
of the partnership we have with Lake Forest HS and look forward
to working with you again in the future. Dare2tri is thrilled
to have our amazing new logo displayed on our website and facebook
page and look forward to having it printed on our team uniforms
and shirts.”
