Graphic Design Students Collaborate with Emotional Wellness Initiative
Recently, Graphic Design I students from Carolyn Bielski and Christine Friedman's classes teamed up with the High School's Emotional Wellness Initiativeto create posters that promoted the 4 core principles of the effort. The principles include Responsibility/Accountability, Acceptance, Integrity and Empathy.
Each poster was created by a team of 4-5 students. The project required students to listen to "client briefs" from faculty members Jennifer Knight and Maggie Ross and senior John McMenamin. Each group then brainstormed a theme, developed visuals and wrote copy. Several groups set up photo shoots to get the required imagery.
The posters were unveiled at the Institute Day on Feb. 12, 2010 and in the coming weeks, they will be professionally reproduced, hung throughout the school and faculty members will have the opportunity to order their favorites for display in their classrooms.
Special thanks APT supporting the reproduction of these posters, both for individual teacher rooms and for general placement around the school.
