Art Department Murals, Created Spring 2012

The Art Department completed and hung two new murals. The mural above was completed by the painting class in the spring of 2012, and hangs down in the basement in the wellness hallway. It was inspired by graffiti artist Keith Haring who became well known for his murals on cardboard done in the New York City subway system. He completed over a hundred of these. He died in his 30’s but has a foundation that helps people of all ages of Aids related issues. The mural at LFHS is also done on cardboard.

The mural below is located outside the Math Department office and was completed by the Art Studio class last spring. The developed the design in the fall semester then painted it in the spring. It visually represents ways in which math and art overlap and are related.
