Head, Boys' Varsity Baseball
Coach Del Fava has been Head Varsity coach at
LFHS since 2011. Prior to that he was Head Sophomore coach at LF
for one year and the Head Freshmen "A" coach for 2 years.
Previous coaching experience includes 14 years as Head Varsity coach
at Loyola Academy. Ray received his BA from the University of Missouri--Columbia
and his M.Ed. from Loyola University. He teaches in the English Department
at LFHS.

Assistant, Boys' Varsity Baseball
2013 marks Coach San Hamel's first year as Assistant Varsity
coach at Lake Forest High School. Previously, he was Assistant Varsity
Baseball coach for 3 years and Head Varsity Baseball coach for 5 years
at Loyola Academy. Coach San Hamel received his Bachelor's degree from
Bradley University with a double-major in Secondary Education & Psychology
and a minor in Family & Consumer Sciences. He has a Master's degree
in School Counseling from Loyola University--Chicago and is a school
counselor at Loyola Academy.
Frank Lesniak

Head, Boys' Sophomore Baseball
Coach Lesniak's has been Head Sophomore coach since 2011.
Prior to that he was the Varsity Assistant coach at LFHS for 2
years and Head
Boys' Freshmen coach for 7 years. He started coaching baseball
at Stevenson High School while he was student teaching. He then
coached Freshmen B Baseball for 1 year at LF. He also coached baseball
camps for the Bulls/Sox Academy for one year. Frank is also an
Assistant, Boys' Varsity/Sophomore Football coach. Frank
received his BA in Special Education from ISU and his MA in Educational
Leadership from National Louis University. He teaches in the Special
Education Department
Phil LaScala

Assistant, Boys' Sophomore Baseball
Coach LaScala has been Assistant Sophomore
coach at LFHS since 2012. He also coached baseball at Mt. Carmel
for eight years. Coach LaScala has been Head Boys'
Basketball Coach at Lake Forest since 2006. Phil has coached both
at the high school and collegiate levels. He was an assistant coach
at Benedictine University in Lisle, IL under Head Coach Keith Bunkenburg.
Benedictine was 21-7 and nationally ranked in the top 20 throughout
the season. He also was an assistant for his father at Benedictine
University in 1994 and 1995. Phil served as an assistant basketball
coach at Mt. Carmel High School for seven years. Coach LaScala graduated
from Eastern Illinois University and received his MBA from Benedictine
University. He teaches Business Education classes at Lake Forest
High School. Phil, his wife Stacey, and son
Jake reside on the North Side of Chicago.
Darren Barndt

Head, Boys' Freshmen "A" Baseball
Coach Barndt has been coaching Freshmen baseball at LFHS
since 2012. Coach Barndt played baseball at Lincoln Trail College
in Robinson, IL---playing a variety of positions: middle infield,
shortshop, second base and catcher. He coached baseball for one year
at Kansas High School. Darren also has extensive experience coaching
basketball. He coached two years at East Richland (Olney) High School
and was the varsity basketball coach at Kansas High School, Kansas,
IL for two years. At Lake Forest, Coach Barndt has worked at the
Freshmen, Sophomore and Varsity levels as an assistant and is currently
the Head Boys' Sophomore Basketball coach. He received his Bachelor's
degree from Southern Illinois University and his Master's From Roosevelt
University. Darren teaches in the Technology Department at LFHS.

Head, Boys' Freshmen "B" Baseball
2013 marks Coach Wood's first year as Head Freshmen "B" coach
at LFHS. Previously he coached Warren Township tournament teams for
two years. Coach Wood received his Bachelor's degree in Criminal
Justice from Quincy University.
