Lake Forest Frosh A 12 - Lake Zurich 6
Lake Forest got a big win vs. Lake Zurich on Thursday. It
was a hard fought battle in really
tough weather conditions, but Lake Forest prevailed 12-6. Lake Forest got
an early lead on
a touchdown pass from Tucker Wilson to Carter Bass. The extra point was
blocked, so
Lake Forest had a 6-0 lead. Lake Forest’s defense held firm for the
whole first half to go
into halftime with a 6-0 lead. Lake Zurich came out in the second
half and moved the ball
on Lake Forest to score a touchdown. The extra point was missed so the
game was tied,
6-6. The game stayed that way until late in the 4th quarter. Lake
Forest had the ball on their
own 35 yard line with under 4 minutes to play. Their first 2 plays gained
no yards, so on a
3rd and long, Tucker Wilson went back to pass and scrambled for a 10-yard gain
and a first
down. After that, Lake Forest’s offensive line took over. John
Zordani, Cooper Ogborn,
Richard Daniels, Luke Turelli, John Baker, and Jack Ellis won the line of scrimmage
and helped
half back Peter Passalino run down the field. Peter finally broke a long
run for a touchdown
to give Lake Forest a 12-6 lead with under 2 minutes to play. Lake Forest’s
defense once
again held firm and shut down Lake Zurich--ending the game on an interception
by Peter
Passalino. Lake Forest’s defense was led by Cooper Ogborn, Cole Moore,
and Tom Kutschke.
Lake Forest moved to 4-4 on the season.

the next Lake Forest possession, Peter Passalino scored
on a 24-yard touchdown run to give the Scouts a 16-0 lead
in the first quarter. Lake Forest added 10 more points
in the second quarter on a 33-yard field goal by Peter

and recover the ball for a touchdown. Kenosha went
for the 2-point conversion and took an 8-0 lead. Lake
Forest would answer and a long pass from Tucker Wilson
to Carter Bass. The Scouts attempt at a 2-point

Lake Forest would answer on a long pass from Tucker Wilson
to George Quall. The Scouts would once again miss
the 2-point conversion and trailed 14-12. The score
would stay that way until late in the 4th quarter, when
Kenosha Bradford scored on a long pass to take a 20-12

Lake Forest
scored on its first possession on a Nick Girdano touchdown
run to take a 7-0
first quarter lead. Palatine answered on a long touchdown pass that was
tipped by a Lake Forest defender, but still landed into the arms of the Palatine
receiver for a touchdown. Palatine missed
the two-point conversion, so Lake Forest held on to the lead 7-6. Lake
Forest scored another
touchdown on a long pass and run to Carter Bass from Tucker Wilson, but missed
the extra point
so they led 13-6. In the second quarter, Palatine threw another deep pass
that was deflected by
a Lake Forest defender into the arms of another Palatine receiver. He was
tackled inside the 5-yard
line, but Palatine was able to score on a short touchdown run. They also
converted the 2-point
conversion to take a 14-13 halftime lead. The second half belonged to Lake
Forest. They scored
on their first possession on Nick Girdano's second rushing touchdown of the day
to take the lead
back for good. Lake Forest added two more scoring drives in the second
half. Once again,
Nick Girdano broke free on a very long touchdown run. The final touchdown
was set up by a
long run by Carter Bass on 4th and long. On the very next play, Tucker
Wilson found George Quall
for a short touchdown pass. The Lake Forest offensive line, (John Baker,
Tim Seibert, Luke Turelli,
Jack Ellis, Cooper Ogborn, and Jake Gloor), were very good and helped Lake Forest
consistently
move the ball down field by controlling the line of scrimmage all day. Not
to be outdone, Lake
Forest's defense was just as good. They held down Palatine offense and
did not give up many
rushing yards. Besides the 2 tipped passes, Lake Forest's defense was
rock solid. The defense
was led by Tom Kutschke, Brett Busscher, and Cole Moore. Peter Passalino
also had a good game
on both sides of the ball, rushing for a bunch of yards and getting an interception
on defense.
Overall, it was a great way to open up the season and Lake Forest is very happy
to be 1-0.
Lake Forest Frosh B 19 - Palatine 8
