Lake Forest Frosh/Soph 175 - Lake Forest Academy 197
The Frosh/Soph team took on Lake Forest Academy
at Deerpath GC on Thursday and came away with a 175-97 win. Leading
the way for the Scouts was Tommy Dee with a 43. Following closely
behind him were a trio of golfers, each who shot 44--August Klatt,
Rylan Terrasse, and Luke Bartuch.
Lake Forest ends its season on Saturday at the St. Viator Invitational
at Old Orchard C.C.

Lake Forest 313 - Libertyville 332
The Frosh/Soph team won its Conference
Championship yesterday at Shepherd’s Crook GC. Their
score of 313 easily outdistanced second place Libertyville by 19
shots. Drew Takacs was the individual medalist, shooting a
77. Right behind him in second and third place were Jake Kunz
and Jackson Bedford, both with 78’s. Showing their consistency,
a trio of golfers came in with 80--Drew Barrett, Jack Barrie, and
Joey Laughlin. Each player earned top-ten
finishes. Graham Ganshirt also medaled.
The Scouts wrap up their dual season tomorrow at Deerpath versus
Lake Forest Academy.

Lake Forest 158 - Warren 169
The Frosh-Soph team finished its dual season yesterday
with a 158-169 victory over Warren at Lake Bluff. Jackson
Bedford was medalist with a 38. Ben Simpson had his low round
of the year with a 39. Jake Kunz added a 41, and Graham Ganshirt
and James Flannery rounded out the scoring with a pair of 42’s.
Next up for the Scouts is the Prairie-Lakes Conference
Championship on Tuesday at Shepherd’s Crook

Lake Forest Frosh/Soph 156 - Mundelein 169
Lake Forest traveled to Countryside GC in Mundelein to take on
the Mustangs on Monday. The Scouts emerged victorious by a 156-169
score. Jack Barrie was medalist with a season best 37. Joey Laughlin
also had his best round of the season, shooting a 38. Closely behind
them were Jackson Bedford (40) and Drew Barrett and Drew Takacs
(41). Lake Forest has another tough conference match today
as they take on Stevenson at the Arboretum GC.
The Frosh-Soph team also sent a team to Sunset Valley on Monday
to play in the Highland Park Quad. The Scouts showed great
effort but the results were not indicative of that effort as Lake
Forest shot a 176 to finish fourth. Ben Simpson
was the Scouts’ medalist with a 40. Luke Bartuch (45),
Graham Ganshirt (44), and James Flannery (47) also added to the
scoring.

The Scouts hosted Highland Park on Thursday and won by a 157-170
score. Jack Barrie was medalist with a 38. Joey Laughlin
and Drew Barrett each shot 39 and Graham Ganshirt added a 41.

Lake Forest hosted Libertyville on Tuesday and came
away with a 160-168 victory. Jake Kunz was medalist with
a 38. Jack Barrie added a 40, and Jackson Bedford and
Joey Laughlin each shot 41.

Lake Forest Frosh/Soph 167 - Warren 172
The F/S team took on Warren at Bittersweet on Thursday and won
by a 167-172 score. Jake Kunz was medalist with a 40. Graham
Ganshirt had his best round of the season with a 41. Jackson
Bedford (42) and Drew Barrett (44) finished the scoring for the
Scouts. Lake Forest hosts its own Invitational on Saturday at Foss
Park.

The F/S team traveled to Shiloh Golf Course to take on Zion Wednesday
and came away with an impressive 146-176 victory. Drew Takacs’ one-under
par 34 led the way. Also playing well for the Scouts were Jake
Kunz and Jackson Bedford (37 each) and Drew Barrett (38).

LF Frosh/Soph 169 - Lake Forest Academy 191
Both the Varsity and Frosh-Soph teams split their squads on Tuesday
and all teams won their respective matches. At Chalet Hills, the
Varsity shot a 153 to defeat Lake Zurich (165) and Antioch (189).
Perry Johnson led the way with a 35. Ian Mankoff (37), Alex Schwartz
(39) , and Quincy Coulter (42) also scored for Lake Forest. The
F/S also shot a 153 to win going away over the Bears (189) and
the Sequoits (210). Jackson Bedford shot an even par 36 for medalist
honors. Drew Barrett (38), Jack Barrie (39), and Drew Takacs (40)
helped lead the Scouts to victory.
At Lake Bluff, Lake Forest hosted Lake Forest Academy and the results
were just as impressive. The Varsity won 156-175. Jack Hermes and
Mac Mardjetko shot one-under par 35 and Nick Steffens chipped in
with a 41. The F/S won 169-191. Ben Simpson was medalist with a
41. Close behind him were Robert Kesman (42), Rylan Terrassee (43),
and Graham Ganshirt (43). The Scouts travel to Zion Wednesday to
take on the Zee-Bees.

Lake Forest 160 - Loyola 169
The Frosh/Soph team traveled to North Shore Country Club on Monday
to take on Loyola, and the Scouts won by a 160-169 score. Drew
Barrett led the way with a fine 39. Drew Takacs and Jackson Bedford
each added 40’s while Jake Kunz chipped in with a 41.
Today, the teams are split as one group travels to Chalet Hills
to take on Lake Zurich and another group hosts Lake Forest Academy
at Lake Bluff Golf Course.

Lake Forest 160 - Warren 164
The Frosh/Soph team traveled to Gurnee on Friday to take on Warren
at Bittersweet Golf Course. In a match shortened to eight
holes due to darkness, the Scouts emerged victorious by a 160-164
score. Leading the way were Jake Kunz, Luke Bartuch, and
Robert Kesman, James Flannery, and Ben Simpson--all who had 40
after eight holes.
Lake Forest travels to North Shore Country Club on Monday to take
on Loyola

The Junior Varsity hosted Highland Park Wednesday and once again
showed its depth and talent. Quincy
Coulter led the way with a 33, followed closely by Jack Hermes
(34) and Chad Williams (35). Corbon Heizer rounded out
the scoring with a 38.
. Jackson
Bedford was medalist with an even par 36. Drew Barrett
shot a 38 while Jack Barrie and Jake Kunz each added a 40 to
the Scouts total.
Both teams are back in action Friday as they travel
to Bittersweet Golf Course to take on Warren.

Five freshmen golfers started their high school careers with a
win at the St. Viator Invitational held at Marengo Ridge Golf Course. In
a uniquely-scored event, the top four scores of each nine were
totaled to determine the champion. On the front nine, Drew
Barrett (39), Jake Kunz (40), Tommy Dee (41), and Joey Laughlin
(42) scored for the Scouts. On the back nine, Jackson Bedford
helped the team secure victory with a 38. Barrett (38),
Kunz (39), and Laughlin (40) stayed consistent. Overall,
the Scouts shot a 317 to win by nine shots. Individually,
Drew Barrett finished in second place, Jake Kunz finished in sixth,
and Jackson Bedford finished in seventh.

Frosh/Soph Defend Title at Praire/Lake Invite at Shepard's
Crook Golf Course
The Scouts were sent to Zion to defend their title, and they won the meet by
26 strokes. It was a cold and windy day in Zion, but the Scouts posted a 313--with
Libertyville finishing second with a 339. The Scouts were led by Matt Garrity
and Nick Steffens, who both shot 77 and finished first. Jack Hermes shot a 78
for a third-place finsh. Joe Willis posted a 81, which was good for 7th place
and Mike Martin finished with a 82--good enough for 8th. Henry Briggs shot a
83 for a tenth-place finish.
The Scouts had a dominating season and Coach Faggi looks for great
things from them in the next two seasons. This team was undefeated
for the first time in 5 years. A Frosh/Soph team from Lake Forest
has won the NSC for the last 15 years in a row. Coach Faggi states
that "It was great to work with these kids, and I think you
will find them great people as well as good golfers...and that
says a lot."
09/26/09----Lake Forest wins the -Frosh/Soph St. Viator Invite
The Scouts have won this event 4 of the past 5 years, but were
down after the first nine. They fought back to take the title
by 1 stroke over New Trier and 2 over St. Viator. The Scouts
were led by Matt Garrity who shot a 75 and tied for 1st place.
Hermes shot a 79 and finished 10th. The other members of the
team were Briggs 81, Williams 82 and Steffen 83.
In 18 hole events, the Scouts have taken 2 firsts, 1 third and
a fifth. The Scouts will head to Zion to take on the rest
of the NSC Tuesday, Sept. 30. When all is said in done, this
may be one of the best F/S teams at Lake Forest High School

Lake Forest 161 - Loyola 175 (to remain undefeated in match play)
The Scouts struggled on a rainy day, but still remained undefeated
in match play with a 161-175 win. The Scouts were led by Heizer
and Barrie with a 39. Wheatley shot a 41 and Trombino shot a 42.
The Scouts won all 18 match play events this season and it is the
first time in 5 years the Scouts completed this part of their schedule
without a loss. As a matter of fact, the Scouts won by an average
of 15 strokes in each match.

Scouts win match play portion of the NSC for the 14th year in a
row The Scouts completed their NSC match play with a dominating
score at Bittersweet--defeating Warren 155-177. The Scouts were
led by Martin and Wheatley with a 38. Trombino finished with
a 39 and Heizer, Mardjetko and Barrie all carded a 40.

Highland Park Quad--First place
After placing second in the quad the past two seasons, the Scouts
finally won with a team total of 1 over par. The Scout dominated
Loyola(157), New Trier(159) and Highland Park(163). The Scouts
were led by Hermes and Garrity--both posting a one under 35. Willis
carded a 39 and Williams shot a 38 for a team total 145.
09/12/09
The Scouts were the host of the 16-team event held at Foss Park
Golf Club. The Scouts entered two teams and came away with
a first and fifth place finish. The Blue Scouts were led
by Joe Willis with a 73 and a second-place finish. John
Hermes carded a 74 and finished 4th. Matt Garrity carded
a 75 for a fifth-place finish and Nick Steffens finished with
a 76 good for 8th place. The total for the Blue team was
an outstanding 298.
The Gold Scouts were led by Austin Klavsons with a 77 and a 10th-place
finish. The other Gold team Scouts were Henry Briggs with
a 78, Jack Barrie with a 79, and Mike Martin rounded out the scoring
with a 83 for a team 5th-place finish.

The Scouts had an easy time on their home course defeating the
Bears 155-175. The Scouts were led by Hermes with a 38. Klavsons,
Garrity, Barrie, Williams Briggs, Heizer and Wheatley all posted
a 39. The Scouts are undefeated in match play and will try
an defend their Lake Forest Invite at Foss Park Saturday September

The Scouts were on the road again in an NSC match. The Scouts
won the match 156-175. The Scouts were led by Briggs with
a 38. Williams and Heizer shot a 39 and Martin, Mardjetko
and Klavsons all shot a 40.

The Scouts hit the road and walked away with an impressive win
at a course that has caused the Scouts trouble in the past. The
Scouts posted a 155 with Highland Park at 166. The Scouts
were led by Hermes and Garrity with a 38. Steffens posted
a 39 and Williams, and Willis posted a 40. The Scouts will
return to this course the the HP Quad.

The Scouts were back at home and and won this battle of Lake Forest. The
Scouts finished with a 160 and LFA shot a 192. Martin, Klavsons,
Heizer and Barrie all shot 40. F/S Chad Williams shot a 38
as he was a call up to the varsity for this match.

Lake Forest 161 - Libertyville 197
The Scouts opened conference against Libertyviile at Pine Meadows
with an impressive win. The Scouts shot a 161 with Libertyville
at 197. Steffens, Wills and LaMothe all shot 40 and Garrity
finished with a 41.

St. Viator Classic at Marengo Ridge
The Freshmen Scouts hit the road and got their first look at high
school tournament golf. With a field of 14 teams, the Scouts
placed 3rd despite a great effort from Ian Mankoff, who won the
event with a one under par 71. New Trier won the event with
a 326. Barrington finished second with a 327 with the Scouts at
328. Wheatley finished with a 83, Barrie shot a 88, Trombino
shot a 90 and Klatt finished at 86.

Lake Forest 163 - Warren 196
The Scouts opened the match play season with a win over Warren
High School. The Scouts shot a 163 to Warren's 196. The
Scouts were led by Steffens with a 39. Other counted scores
were Briggs with a 40, Williams with a 41, Heizer with a 41 and
Hermes with a 40.

Raider Classic at Bloomington, IL
The Scouts started the season on the road with a mix of Freshmen,
Sophomores and Juniors and came away with a very impressive tournament. With
a field of 12 teams, the Scouts won the tournament with a score
of 293. Ian Mankoff won the event with a score of 70. Chase
Wheatley finished second with a 73. Foster Meeks and Joe Willis
finished 75 and a third-place finish. Nick Steffens shot a
76 and finished 5th. Mac Mardjetko shot an 81 and finished
in 18th place.

Lake Forest 176 - Antioch 187
It was a struggle for the Scouts at Antioch, but they hung on for
the win. The top score was shot by birthday boy Briggs with a 43.
The other counted scores were: Hermes 43, Martin 46, Podd 45.
The Scouts end the match play season with a 7- 0 conference record
and a 12 - 2 overall record. The team won both 18 hole events and
placed second in their only quad. It was a great season, and the
future looks bright for the next three years.

Lake Forest Invite: Lake Forest 310, New Trier 313, Stevenson 319
The Scouts' Invite was held at Foss Park, and it turned out to
be a great day for the Scouts-- taking the team championship with
a 310. New Trier Followed with a 313 and Stevenson was third with
a 319. The event consisted of 14 teams and was the first big-time
F/S event held at Lake Forest. The Scouts were led by Schwartz
and Meeks with a 77. Willis and Garrity each posted a 78. The Scouts
entered a second team in the event, and they finished 7th with
a 334. This team was led by Coulter with an 80, Pickell with a
82, Mardjetko with a 84 and the final count score was Klavson with
an 88. It was a great prep event since the NSC conference
will be held at the same course.

The Scouts went on the road again and struggled for the 3rd time
at Sunset Valley, but came away with the win. The Scouts
were led by Pickell with a 39. The other Scouts who counted were
Steffens 42, Coulter 41 and Podd 44.

The Scouts finished off the NSC Lake season with an impressive
147 at Lake Bluff. The team was undefeated in the NSC Lake
Division. The Scouts were led by Alec Schwartz with a one under
35. Also posting scores were: Steffens 37, Hansdorfer 37, Mardjetko
