The Frosh/Soph team finished its 2011 season
with a second place finish in the 16 team St. Viator Invitational held
at Old Orchard Country Club on Saturday. The Scout’s
308 total left them four shots behind the winners. Drew Barrett
was low man for Lake Forest with a 75, which earned him a third-place
medal. Jake Kunz was right behind with a 76, and Jackson Bedford
as well with a 77. Jack Garrity rounded out the scoring with an
80. Congratulations to the Scouts on an outstanding season!!

The Scouts played in the Prairie-Lakes Invitational yesterday.
This is equivalent to the conference championship. The
event was shortened to 9 holes because of the soaking conditions. Lake
Forest won the title by six shots, shooting a 150. Jackson
Bedford was the Scout’s medalist, shooting a 36, which earned
him second place overall. A bevy of Scouts shot 38, also earning
them medals. They were as follows: Jack Garrity (4th), Mac Montagne
(6th), Drew Barrett (7th), and Graham Ganshirt (8th). Ties were
broken using a scorecard playoff. Although their scores did not
count, Luke Massar (14th) and Jake Kunz (18th) also medaled for
Lake Forest. The Frosh/Soph team’s last invitational is this
Saturday at Old Orchard Country Club.

Lake Forest 160 - Lake Zurich 187
The Scouts finished undefeated in league
play as a result of their
160-187 victory yesterday over Lake Zurich at Lake Bluff GC. Quinn
Gaughan was medalist with a 39. Joey Laughlin and Jacques Zureikat
each shot 40 while Graham Ganshirt added a 41. Congratulations to Lake
Forest on an outstanding Conference season!!
The Conference Championship
is Tuesday at Antioch Golf Club.

The Scouts played at Sunset Valley in the Highland Park
Quad and lost a heartbreaker on a 5th score tie-breaker. Lake Forest
and New Trier both shot 157, but New Trier’s 5th score of a 42 was one shot
better than the Scout’s. Highland Park shot a 159 and Loyola
came in with a 170. Jack Garrity was medalist for LF with a 38. Drew
Barrett shot a 39 while Luke Massar and Jake Kunz added a pair of 40’s.
Lake Forest hosts Lake Zurich on Thursday.

Lake Forest 153 - Libertyville 167
The Scouts hosted Libertyville and came away with a big
153-167 victory. Joey Laughlin was medalist with an even-par 36. Joey
managed nine pars in a row!! Graham Ganshirt, Jacques Zureikat,
and Rylan Terrasse all added 39’s to contribute to the win.
Lake Forest travels to Sunset Valley today, September 20, to play
in the HP Quad with the host school, Loyola, and New Trier.

Lake Forest 157 - Stevenson 172
The Frosh/Soph team took on
conference foe Stevenson on Friday at the Arboretum. The Scouts
won this important match 157-172. Jake
Kunz was medalist with a 38. Graham Ganshirt and Jack Garrity each
shot 39 and Jackson Bedford and Tommy Dee added 41’s. The Scouts host Libertyville today....Sept. 19.

Lake Forest 156 - Libertyville 165
The Frosh/Soph team took
on Libertyville Thursday at Village Green Golf Course. The Scouts
were led by Jack Garrity whose two-over par score 37 helped the team
to its 156-167 victory. Quinn
Gaughan shot a 39 while Mac Montagne and Luke Massar each shot 40.
The Scouts finish up their busy week traveling to the Arboretum
Golf Course to take on Stevenson.

Lake Forest 149 - Vernon Hills 184
Lake Forest took on Vernon Hills at White Deer Run in a conference
cross-over match Wednesday. Jackson Bedford led the Scouts
to a 149-184 victory, shooting an even-par 36. Jake Kunz and
Luke Massar both shot 37 and Graham Ganshirt added a 39 to contribute
to the victory.
Lake Forest’s busy week continues as they
travel to Village Green Thursday to take on Libertyville.
Lake Forest hosted Warren on Tuesday. Jackson Bedford was
medalist with a 39. A bevy of Scouts shot 40 to help the team
to a 159-171 victory. Quinn Gaughan, Drew Barrett, Jake Kunz,
and Rylan Terrasse all shot the popular score.
The Scouts travel to White Deer Run on Wednesday, Sept.
14, to take on Vernon Hills.
Lake Forest played Warren Monday at the appropriately named Bittersweet
Golf Course. The Scouts came away with a 163-177 victory.
Patrick McGrail was the medalist with a 39, the only player
to keep it under 40. Quinn Gaughan shot a 40 while Tommy
Dee, Charlie Yale, Luke Massar, and Jack Garrity all shot
42. The Scouts host Warren today at Lake Bluff.
The
Scouts hosted its own invitational at Foss Park Saturday
and were not gracious hosts as the split
squad finished 1st and 3rd out of 16 teams. The
Blue Team shot an incredible one-over par 289 as a team to
win the event. Led by individual
medalist Drew Barrett’s one-under total of 71, the
Scouts won by twelve shots. Jackson Bedford finished in third
individually with a 72, while Luke Massar (5th) and Mac Montagne
(6th) shot 73’s to earn medals as well.
The Gold team shot
a 310 and was led by Jack Garrity, who shot a 71, but lost
the individual title on a scorecard playoff. Tommy Dee shot
a 76 while Joey Laughlin (80) and Quinn Gaughan (83) helped
the Scouts to the impressive finish.
The Scouts travel to
Bittersweet on Monday to take on Warren before they host
a rematch with Warren on Tuesday.
The
Scouts traveled to Shiloh on Thursday to take on Zion. A trio of
41’s
led Lake Forest to the 165-191 victory. Quinn Gaughan, Joey Laughlin,
and Charlie Yale were the medalists for the Scouts. Sean Casey
added a 42 to round out the scoring. Lake Forest hosts its
own tournament on Saturday at Foss Park.
Lake Forest took on Mundelein at Countryside
on Thursday. Alex
Georges shot his career best, a two-under 34, to help the Scouts
to a 145-169 win. Believe it or not, Alex had to share medalist
honors with teammate Drew Barrett, who also shot a 34. Mac
Montagne (38), Quinn Gaughan and Luke Massar (39’s) contributed
to the big win.
The Scouts host Warren on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
The Frosh/Soph team split its squad Wednesday to host
Lake Forest Academy and to travel to Highland Park. Both teams were victorious. At
home versus LFA, Jacques Zureikat was the medalist with a 39. Sean
Casey and Rylan Terrasse added 41’s, and Charlie Yale pitched
in with a 45 as the Scouts won 166-197.
At Sunset Valley against
the Giants, Drew Barrett led the way to the 156-171 victory with
a 38. Close behind him were Quinn Gaughan and Tommy Dee with
39’s. Dee actually had a triple bogey on the first hole
and followed that up with eight straight pars. Jake Kunz, Jack
Garrity, and Luke Massar all had 40’s. The Scouts travel
to Mundelein today to take on the Mustangs.

The Frosh/Soph Golf Team split its players and
went to Wilmette on Thursday to take on perennial state power, Loyola.
Both squads emerged victorious. Graham Ganshirt led one
of the teams to a 155-158 victory with a stellar even-par score
of 35. Jake Kunz (39) and Jack Garrity (40) played well and both
Luke Massar and Tommy Dee contributed 41’s.
Alex Georges shot a two-over par 37 to help the second group of Scouts
to a 160-165 win. Quinn Gaughan and Patrick McGrail both shot 40
and Jacques Zureikat added a 43.
The Scouts are back in action Saturday, August 27,
at the re-scheduled St. Viator Invitational at Marengo Ridge GC.

The Frosh-Soph team started its season off Thursday with a 148-160
victory over Highland Park. Jackson Bedford and Jake Kunz
led the way with even par 36’s. Patrick McGrail shot a 37 in
his first-ever high school match. Joey Laughlin rounded out the scoring
for the Scouts with a 39.
On Saturday, the Scouts travel to Marengo Ridge
to play in the St. Viator Freshman Invitational.
