The boys placed third at the Conference Championship meet on Saturday.  The day started off well for us when TJ Jackson jumped a new personal best by over a foot (21-9.5) in the long jump.  It was his first jump, and it ended up winning the event.  Soon after that, our 4x100M relay of Eric Gerber, Andrew Steinwold, Sam Howard and TJ Jackson broke our school record for the second time this season with a 43.18.  They're looking to qualify for state next week and better that time again.  PR's were all over, as Henry Mynatt got season PR's in the 3200 (9:31) and the 1600 (4:27).  Sam Howard took second in the 400 with a lifetime best 49.31, only one tenth away from our school record, and in what our hurdles coach John Brumund-Smith called, "the ugliest race he's seen all season," Andrew Steinwold got a season PR in the 300M hurdles with a 39.66, well on his way to qualifying for state.  Andrew Farver had a lifetime PR of 2:00.04 in the 800M and will be an integral part of our 4x800M relays chances to qualify.  The Scouts had some downs, too, but with what we've seen from the team this season, and the efforts we got on Saturday, we should be able to send a lot of guys to Charleston next week.

Last night the boys captured third place at the Lake County Championship Meet, despite being without their top-ranked thrower and point scorer, Matt Miller.  The meet started off great with the 4x800M relay racing a new season best by over 8 seconds, running 8:12.  This was followed by a third-place finish in the 4x100M relay.  Anchor leg TJ Jackson was experiencing some knee pain, so triple jumper Ryan Miller filled in and ran a great race.  Henry Mynatt placed second in the two mile on the windy, cold night, then returned to run a great time in the 1600Sam Howard and Andrew Steinwold ran their way to County Championships in the 400 and 300 hurdles, respectively--Howard winning his race by almost two seconds.  John-Michael Boyle PR'd in the long jump with a 20'3.25 and placed second, while Ryan Miller finished third in the triple jump with a new season PR of 42'5.  The 4x4 capped the night with a great race and a 3 second PR of 3:27CLICK HERE FOR FULL RESULTS
