Lake Forest (IL) High School, sponsors teams for
age groups 10 & under,
12 & under, and 14 & under and is dedicated to developing
fundamentals, skills, strategy and a passion for the game. We encourage good
sportsmanship.
All teams practice on a regular basis at our home fields, located
at the Lake Forest West Campus. The Scouts participate in the North
Shore Fastpitch Softball League, in addition to local weekend tournaments
in June and July. In past years our teams have qualified for the
USSSA national tournament.
Our program employs experienced coaches and assistant coaches, some
of whom are former Scout players and current college level softball
players. Their mission is to teach skills, rules and team play appropriate
to each age level team.
The Lake Forest Girls Fastpitch Softball Association is managed by
an elected board of directors made up of coaches and parent representatives.
Board meetings are usually held on the first Wednesday of each month
and are open to all interested in attending.
We encourage parents of players to take an active role in the development
of their daughters by making sure they are at games and practices
on time, giving encouragement, and cheering their daughters and their
team in a positive manner.
