Lake Forest JVA 6 - Loyola 0

09/06/11
Lake Forest JVA 6 - Oak Park & River Forest 0

Lake Forest JVB 5 - Oak Park & River Forest 0

Playing Oak Park is always exciting and a good challenge.  The team practiced really hard to get ready for this game.  This was the first game the team played using a different starting layout.  The new layout has a level of offensive midfielders and a level of defensive midfielders.  The girls adjusted well, and it seemed to help them move the ball better and keep them spread out.  Once again the goals were a team effort with the following players scoring:  Lindsey Close, Anne Stevenson, Sarina Jagetia, and Kelly Nolan.  The girls' success can be attributed to their never giving up on a ball, communicating, and taking faster more accurate shots on goal.  Go Scouts!!

09/01/11 vs. Glenbrook South at Home
Lake Forest JVA 6 - Glenbrook South 0

JV B game was cancelled due to lack of officials.  Hopefully this game will be rescheduled later in the season

Lake Forest JVA 6 - Glenbard West 0

08/27/11 Glenbard West Invite

The Glenbard West Play Day gave the Scouts the opportunity to play 3 short 25-minute games.  Scores are not recorded.  The Scouts will play all three teams again later in the season.  It is a great way to see the teams' strengths and weaknesses and have FUN playing field hockey.

1st game vs. Deerfield

The girls did not start out this game as they usually do.  They struggled with spacing and communicating.  Once they started to communicate and get a rhythm going, they were exciting to watch.  The first 2 goals were scored by Sarina Jagetia and the 3rd by Amanda Giordano.  The fact that Amanda plays defense demonstrates how great this team is at all aspects of the game.

2nd game vs. Loyola
The game was spent mainly on Loyola’s defensive half.  However, the girls struggled to get the ball in the cage with numerous shots and attempts on the cage.  Loyola’s defense and goalie never gave up.  Half way through the 25-minute game, Mary Alice Arnstein got one in the back of the cage.  Unfortunately, after that goal the team recovery skills broke down when Loyola brought the ball to our defensive half and scored.  The team played a good team and learned the hard way   what happens when you do not mark up and recover.

3rd game vs. Glenbard West
By the third game, the girls were awake and starting to move the ball down the field with more ease.  The major struggle the team had during this game was spacing and communicating.  The first and third goal was scored by Lindsey Close and the second by Vanessa Layug.  The girls had a great time at the play day.

8/26/11
Lake Forest JVA 6 - Deerfield 0

Lake Forest JVB 7 - Deerfield 0

In this game Coach Crivello wanted the girls to focus on communicating, making smart passes, and making every shot on goal count.  The girls stepped up to this challenge and the goals in this game were a team effort.  Kelly Nolan, Mary Alice Arnstein, Lindsey Close, Hannah Burgener, and Abby Warren all scored.  The ability of every player to setup and make plays is one of the aspects that make this team so dynamic and exciting to watch.  In this game the Scouts gave Deerfield zero defensive corners or shots on goal.

08/24/11
Lake Forest JVA 6 - Stevenson 0

Lake Forest JVB 3 - Stevenson 0
The first game of the season is exciting and hopefully a good prediction of how our season will go.  The girls started the game pressuring the ball and keeping the pressure on by putting several shots on goal.  The first goal of the game was by Kelly Nolan.  This goal helped give the girls confidence and set the tone for the rest of the game.  Abby Warren scored the second goal and Lindsey Close the third.   The girls worked well on the field together and enjoyed their first game as a team.
