Lake Forest 15 - Lake Zurich 5- Scouts Get First Win of Season

Friday night the Scouts traveled to Lake Zurich to take on the Bears.  After giving up the opening goal, the Scouts rattled off 5 straight and coasted to a 15- 5 victory.  The Lake Forest offense was led by Senior Captains Nicolette Lyons and Megan Moore.  Lyons directed the offense from behind the goal dishing out four assists and scoring twice.  Moore was effective from the top of the 12-meter circle, beating her defender one-on-one to tally six goals and one assist.  Laura Carstens also had a multiple-goal night, finding the back of the net 3 times.   Tina Setteducate, Julia Muscarello, Brenna Carberry and Abby Sirus each scored once.  Jordan Majka made six saves in goal and Setteducate led the team with 4 ground balls.

Scouts 11 - Loyola Academy 10
In stunning comeback fashion, the Scouts lacrosse team defeated Loyola 11-10 for the first time in 5 years. After being down 10-6 with 5:30 left on the clock, Coach Klingler called what turned out to be a very important time-out. He told the girls that it is possible to erase almost any deficit in 5 minutes, so that's just what they did and then some. Co-captain Jenn Long started chipping away at the lead almost immediately, followed by a 4 goal surge from co-captain Maggie Burke. Burke tied the game with 11 seconds left then decided she wasn't interested in playing overtime, shooting the winning shot at the buzzer. Goalie Jordan Majka recorded 12 saves behind phenomenal defense led by Jamee Jacobson, Betsy Frese, Julia Musacarello and Krysti Kiesel. The Scouts go into the playoffs ranked #3 in the state and have high hopes for a very successful post-season that will begin Tuesday at 5:00 on the front lawn.
