the high school softball teams will play games that evening at Stevenson
High School in Lincolnshire.

Archived Varsity Game Summaries--Spring, 2009
04/22/09
Lake Forest 3 - Libertyville 0

Lake Forest beat Libertyville 3-0 for their first conference win.  Easily the Scouts' best defensive effort of the season as they played errorless defense.  Megan Salm pitched her best game of the season--locating her pitches well and striking out 5 while only walking 1. The Scouts took advantage of 2 Libertyville errors, scoring all three runs from miscues.  The win improved the Scouts record to 5-4 on the season.

Lake Forest 11 - Round Lake 3

Megan Salm had 8 strikeouts in a strong pitching performance.  Scouts also turned in their best defensive effort of the year.  Strong hitting from Julia Retsky (3-4, triple, 2 RBIs, 3 runs scored) Megan Salm (3-5, home run and 4 RBIs), and Colleen Consadine (3-3)  led the Scouts to their best offensive output this year.


04/11/09
Lake Forest 8 - Niles North 7
Lake Forest 6 - Niles North 5

Scouts split a double header with Niles North.  Megan Salm earned her first varsity win with an 8-7 victory in the first game.  Julia Retsky and Kristie Borrasso led the Scouts with 2 RBIs a piece.  Scouts lost the second game 6-5.  Trailing by 4 runs entering the 7th inning, the Scouts came up just short--scoring three times.  Ashlee Dunstan pitched a great game allowing only 3 earned runs.  Ashlee was also the hitting star with 2 triples and 2 RBIs.


04/09/09
Lake Forest 0 - Carmel 10

Scouts lost to Carmel 10-0 in 6 innings.  Stefanie Picchietti pitched her first varsity game and deserved a better fate as the Scouts committed 3 errors.


04/06/09
Lake Forest 7 - Libertyville 10
Lake Forest lost to Libertyville in a hard faught game 10-7.  Scouts never gave up and came back from a 4-run deficit only to give up 2 runs in the 6th inning.  3 Scout errors led to several unearned runs.  At the plate, Julia Retsky reached base 5 times and scored 3 runs.  Megan Salm and Christine Menzies both had two hits.

03/26/09
Lake Forest 4 - Buffalo Grove 5

This was the Scouts' first game of the season.  Ashley Smith had a two-run triple and Kristie Borrasso an RBI single--all with two out in the 3rd inning. Megan Salm made her Varsity debut on the mound and pitched around trouble to keep the Scouts in the game.
