Meet -
Congratulations to Lake Forest High School's Carolina
Carmichael, a junior, who placed
second with an effort of 12-3 in Saturday's Class
3A state pole vault finals at Eastern Illinois University's
O'Brien Stadium in Charleston and also broke
her own school record by clearing 12-3. Lake Forest teammate Carly
Schmidt, a sophomore, finished fifth by
clearing 11-9.
As a team, Lake Forest tied for 21st place with Prospect,
Aurora West and York with 13 points each.

Lake Forest got great performances from underclassmen Lauren
Wyatt, a freshman, and sophomore Carolina Carmichael. Carmichael
took first in the pole vault and 100-meter hurdles, while
Wyatt grabbed the top prize in the 800 and 1,600 runs. Wyatt
also ran on the Scouts' winning 3,200 relay team.

Lake Forest placed fourth in Barrington's inaugural girls' track invitational.
Barrington took first with 140.5 points, followed by Hoffman Estates (134.5),
Bolingbrook (106) and Lake Forest (81) in the seven-team field. Carolina
Carmichael took first in the 100 high hurdles (15.5) and long jump (16-4).

Lake Forest beat Lake Zurich 82-64 in an NSC Lake dual on Monday.The
Scouts
went 1-2-3 in shot put: Caroline Stride (30-10), Haley Marshall (30-6) and
Abby Pire (28-4). Stride also placed first in the discus with a top toss of 89-7.
Other LF winners included Carolina Carmichael (100 hurdles, 15.6),
Lily Barrie (800, 2:28.2), Lauren Wyatt (3200, 11:50.0; 1600, 5:34.6), Ofelia
Carmichael (pole vault, 10-6), Carly Schmidt (triple jump, 32-8), the 3200
relay
(Barrie, Alicia Calcutt, Lauren Ganshirt and Nina Demet in 10:12.0) and the
1600 relay (Barrie, Ganshirt, Ellie Logue and Chelsea Hargitt in 4:14.3).
