State
Meet -
Congratulations to Lake Forest High School's Carolina
Carmichael,
a junior, who placed
second with an effort of 12-3 in Saturday's Class
3A state pole vault finals at Eastern Illinois University's
O'Brien Stadium in Charleston and also broke her own
school record by clearing 12-3. Lake Forest teammate Carly
Schmidt,
a sophomore, finished fifth by clearing 11-9.
As a team, Lake Forest tied for 21st place with Prospect, Aurora West and York
with 13 points each.

Lake Forest Placed Fifth Out of 17 Teams in the Buffalo Grove Sectionals:
(1) Palatine 121.33; (2) Waukegan 56; (3)Lake Zurich 51; (4)Hersey
47; (5)Lake Forest 39.
Scouts Qualifying for State:
Carolina Carmichael (2 events) -- won the pole vault clearing
the bar at 11 feet, 9 inches. She also qualified for the 100-meter hurdles with
a season-best time of 15.0 seconds.
