10/23.
10/3/12 - LF vs. Stevenson
LF lost to Stevenson in 2 sets: 18-25, 17-25
The Scouts came to play with NSC top squad Stevenson despite the scores. Set 1 was a competitively tight set. Unfortunately for the Scouts, with the score tied at 18 Stevenson picked up a quick run with a kill, block and 4 aces to end the Scout hopes. Set 2, the Scouts started slow but were able to find a tie around 13. The Patriots made a mid game run that the Scouts cut into late in the set, only to have Stevenson step their play up to close the match out.
Record: 5-12 overall, 2-2 in conference play
10/01/12 - LF at Loyola
LF lost to Loyola in 2 sets: 24-26, 17-25
9/29/12 - Lake Forest Invite
Scouts finished 2nd at their home tournament, defeating Carmel to advance to the finals but dropping the Championship match to Joliet West. In all it was a solid day for the Scouts as they went 3-2 overall.

09/11/12 - Conference match vs Zion Benton
Scores for the match:
Lake Forest defeated Zion Benton in 2 sets: 25-20, 25-21
The Scouts got their first win of the season, defeating Zion Benton.
Scouts were led by Katy Huguenard--8 kills, Maria Pesek with 5 kills
and Elise Palombella's 5 kills
LFHS Season record: 1 - 7 overall, 1-1 in conference play
Next Match: 9/13 at Grant
09/05/12 - Non-conference match at Evanston
The Scouts were unable to put a complete set together versus Evanston,
losing in 2 sets. The Scouts had the score tied near the
half way point of the set, but unforced Scout errors and solid
play by the Wildkits proved to be too much for the Scouts to
overcome in the end.
Scores for the match:
Evanston defeated LFHS in 2 sets: 25-14, 25-14
LFHS Season record: 0 – 7 overall, 0 – 1 in
conference play
09/04/12 – Conference match vs. Mundelein
The Scouts played their best match of the year, but were unable
to lock up the win. It was good to see the group take a
positive step forward.
Scouts were led by Elise Palombella who recorded 8 kills, 2 aces,
12 service points and Gabby Perino 12 digs and 11 service points.
Scores for the match:
Mundein defeated LFHS in 3 sets: 25-23, 21-25, 25-18
LFHS Season record: 0 – 6 overall, 0 – 1 in
conference play
08/31/12 – at Lyons Quad
Tough night for the Scouts as they lost all three matches to solid opponents: Sandburg,
York and Lyons. All three opponents are perennially among the top teams
in the state due to their tremendous ball control and ability to finish plays
with explosion.
Scores for the matches:
Sandburg defeated LFHS in 2 sets: 25-12, 25-14
York defeated LFHS in 2 sets: 25-13, 25-12
Lyons defeated LFHS in 2 sets: 25-13, 25-16
LFHS Season record: 0 – 5
08/28
Glenbrook South defeated LFHS in 2 sets: 25-13,
25-18
The Scouts played a much better match than they did
in their season opener; unfortunately, it was not enough to defeat
the Titans. In
both sets the Scouts set the early tone and tempo of play, but
were unable to match the next level of fire power that Glenbrook
South delivered to close out the sets.
LFHS record: 0-2
Next matches: 8/31 at Lyons Quad
vs. Lyons, York and Sandburg
08/23/12
Wheeling defeated LFHS in 2 sets: 25-12, 25-16
Hard
lessons learned for the young Scouts as they dropped 2 sets easily
to Wheeling. The Scouts’ bright spot in the
match was how they started the second set--taking an early 11-9
lead. Unfortunately, that lead did not last as Wheeling benefited
on 10 Scout errors to close out the match.
LFHS record: 0-1
