The Scouts took 2nd place at the Vernon Hills Sophomore
Volleyball Invite this Saturday. The Scouts won their
first four matches, before being defeated in the championship
game by Glenbrook South.
Scouts beat Regina High School 25-20, 25-12.
Scouts beat Vernon Hills 25-14, 25-16.
Scouts beat Hoffman Estates 28-26, 25-11.
Scouts beat Libertyville (for the second time
in 24 hours) 25-17, 25-22.
Scouts lost in the Championship Game vs. GBS 18-25, 16-25

The Scouts beat Libertyville at home 25-23, 25-18.

The Scouts hosted Warren Township High School for the “Go
Pink!” Game. Both teams played while wearing bright pink
uniforms to support breast cancer awareness and research. Scouts
won in two games, 25-18,25-19.
10/09/10
On Saturday, the Scouts traveled to Bartlett for
the Sophomore Bartlett Invitational where the team took 3rd place
out of 10 teams! The successful day began with a big win
against Aurora East with scores of 25-5, 25-8. Catherine
Looby had 6 aces. Ashley Glicksberg had eight aces, and Annie Belgrade
had six aces.
Next, the Scouts lost to Bartlett on their home court 16-25,
23-25. For the third game of the day, the Scouts
beat Schaumberg 25-22, 25-21. Tori Moore had six kills
and 3 aces.
In tournament play, the Scouts lost to Wheaton Warrenville
South with scores of 19-25, 21-25, ending the teams
chance of winning 1st place for the tournament. In the final
game of the day, Scouts beat South Elgin in two games. Gabby
Perino had a great passing game, which helped Catherine Looby
to set 15 kills. Overall, the Sophomore Scouts played extremely
well and are pleased with winning 3rd place.

The Scouts lost to the Loyola Academy Ramblers 19-25,
17-25.

The Sophomore girls lost to New Trier on Friday. Scores were 10-25,
7-25.

Sophomores lost at Antioch on Wednesday. Scouts won the first game
25-10 and then lost the next two games 19-25, 25-27. A close but
tough match for the Scouts.

The Scouts Sophomore team lost to Lake Zurch in two
games.. The score of the two games were: 24-26 and 13-25.

William Fremd Sophomore Volleyball Invite
In pool play, teams played 2 games per match.
Scouts played Elk Grove and won 1 game
and lost 1 game (25-23, 23-25), and then played Fremd and lost
2 games (17-25, 13-14).
In tournament play, the Scouts defeated Palatine in a three
game match (25-17, 22-25, 15-11). Tori Moore had 6 kills
and Ashley Glicksberg had 4 aces and 5 kills. In the last game,
the Scouts played Fenton and won both
games (25-5 and 25-16). Catherine Looby had 7 aces. Overall,
Scouts played hard and had a great weekend at Fremd.

After having a difficult Lyon's Triangular tournament,
where the Scout's sophomore team lost close matches to Lyons Township
High School, York High School, and Carl Sandburg High School, the
team has been working hard in practice, and it's paying off.
The sophomores have won their last two matches. Lake Forest
defeated Mundelein in two games, and beat Stevenson High School
in three games last night. The scores of the games Wednesday
night were (15-25, 26-24, 25-22). Congrats on a big win against
the Patriots!

Jacobson led with 15 digs. Ellie Revenaugh had
1 ace and 4 digs

The LF Sophomores beat Bartlett B Team 25-8 and 25-14, and
then beat Lake Park 23-25,25-20,15-12, Wheaton Warrensville
25-21 & 25-23 and Bartlett A Team 25-23 & 25-17 before
losing to Yorkville High School 22-25 & 22-25 in the
championship--finishing in second place.
MaggieJacobson had an outstanding tournament. The Scout's
offense was carried by Katie Lazarra, Carolyn Hopfinger and
Hannah Gullberg.

Lake Forest sophomore vball team beat Zion-Benton 25-15,23-25 & 25-22.
Key players were Hannah Gullberg with 6 kills 2 aces,
Carolyn Hopfinger with 5 kills and 6 aces, and Justine Burchall
with 5 kills. Maggie Jacobson had a great match defensively.

Middle Hitter Anna Schwartz added 20 kills on the
day with 6 aces.
Middle Hitter Justine Burchall added 8
kills on the day with 3 block solos!
Libero Maggie Jacobson was the standout
libero at the tournament. From ball control
to great defensive plays, Maggie was awesome!
Cat Perino added great energy and solid defense
when needed.
Lizzie Seibert had a great serving run off the
bench!
Setter Natalia Murphy had a great day--adding
3 aces and a block solo.

Great victory last night against Evanston!! Lake Forest
Lost the first game 27-26
due to cap scoring. Then won the next two close
25-23, 25-21. Anna Schwartz was outstanding
with six kills hitting .500 and a solo block. Katie Lazzara
and Carolyn
Hopfinger both had 9 kills a piece!! Ellie Revenaugh
came in and gave LF a great
boost in serving and Maggie jacobson had great ball control!

LF defeated Mundelein 26 - 24 & 25 - 22
Both teams played very well. Katie Lazarra had a fantastic
offensive night.
Carolyn Hopfinger and Hannah Gullberg had five kills, and Anna
Schwartz and
Justine Burchall provided a huge presence all night. The defenders
made sure
nothing hit the ground!.

Lyons Tournament
LF lost to Sandberg 23-25 & 14-25--almost
coming back from a ten-point deficit with
serving by Carolyn Hopfinger. The team stayed competitive against
a great team.
LF lost to York 20-25, 25-23, 13-15. The girls battled, but
were a few plays short to pull
offthe win. Katie Lazzara had a great game--hitting .600.
Anna Schwartz had a great
serving run in game three. Maggie Jacboson made some outstanding
defensive
and hustle plays.
LF beat Lyons 25-12 & 25-16 with focused and
energetic play. LIzzie Seibert had
great serves and Hannah Gullberg, Justine Burchall, Carolyn
Hopfinger, Anna Schwartz
and Katie Lazzara all brought a tough offense. Natalie Murphy
set a great tournament

The Sophomore girls beat Highland Park 25-18 and
25-17. The great play included
11 aces as a team. Carolyn Hopfinger led the Scouts in kills
with 8 and a hitting
percentage of .333. Cat Perino and Maggie Jacobson played great
defense. Natalia
Murphy set a great game and had good hustle plays! A
great team effort.
