 All Bookstore related transactions will be taken care of at East Campus only.

Book Buy-Back Schedule


To Our Lake Forest High School Community,

In February 2013, the District formed a Book Buy Committee comprised of the book store manager, the high school librarian, administration, and business office staff. The committee was given the task of evaluating book buy and book buy back options that would improve customer service and create greater efficiency in terms of time and money.

The committee evaluated three options: (1) online bookstore operated through a third-party, (2) rental option operated through a third-party, and (3) making improvements to the District’s current book buy and book buy back processes.

The online bookstore option allows families to purchase textbooks online and sends them directly to their home; however, this option would result in a cost increase to the community. The rental option would allow families to rent textbooks on a yearly basis; however, this option would also result in a cost increase to the community. As such, the committee has concluded the most cost efficient manner for families to acquire and sell back books continues to be through a district operated program.

The committee has now turned their attention to formulating wide-sweeping improvements to the current book buy and book buy back processes, starting with this spring’s book buy back events. Such improvements include:

Expanded Book Buy Back hours:

Senior Book Buy Back
Wednesday, May 29,
10am – 4pm

Junior -Freshman Book Buy Back
Thursday, June 6 & Friday, June 7
8am – 2pm

Account credits issued for book buy back and applied to future school year’s book buy or check issued upon request

Checks issued to Seniors or any family leaving the district

One station service – no multiple station stops

Concurrently, the committee will continue to develop plans to improve the book buy event for the 2013-2014 school year. Please be on the watch for these exciting improvements in future communications.
