LFHS Foundation is sponsoring a pilot digital video camera program. A survey site has been developed so that when teachers use the cameras they can provide input.
Available for check-out at the Technology Help Desk are 5 flip video HD Cameras and 5 Kodak xi8 HD video cameras. These cameras were purchased by the LFHS Foundation as a pilot program to determine whether to move forward with a grant request for a classroom set of cameras. For this reason these cameras are strictly for classroom instructional use. The goal of the Lake Forest Foundation is to support the development of technologically inspired instructional strategies. The Technology department has 3 additional Flip cameras that may be checked out for professional development which are not a part of this program.
Guidelines for Use:
· Teachers will be given a draft copy of Video Recording Guide lines each time the cameras are checked out so that they are reminded of acceptable use of video recording at LFHS.
· When the cameras are returned, teacher should complete a web survey evaluating their experience or that of their students by following the link above.
· Instructions for using portable digital technology are included with each camera. Additionally, Steve Douglass has posted several very helpful videos illustrating how to use the Flip Cam and the Kodak xzi8 video camera. These videos may be accessed online at: http://sites.google.com/site/lfhsfoundationgrantflip/how-to-videos
Currently, training is not available through the Help Desk.
