From the Desk of the Director of Safety and Security
Motorists driving on McKinley Road near LFHS, (1285 N. McKinley Road, Lake Forest, IL) are reminded to STOP when pedestrians are crossing the street (State Law) and to slow down in the School Zone. The City of Lake Forest will install the mid-block Pedestrian Crossing signs and also step up Police patrol in the School Zone. Drivers should be alert and aware of these conditions while driving. September 2012 Just a reminder to all individuals who drive on or near the LFHS Campuses: pay special attention at all cross walks across McKinley Road! One cross walk is located just south of LFHS entrance drive and the other is just north of the exit drive of LFHS. Please be aware of our busiest times of the day from 7:00am - 8:00am as well as 3:00pm - 3:20pm daily. These are the times when traffic is the heaviest on and around campus. Also remember, Illinois State Law has declared that being on a cell phone in a school zone is illegal! Please be patient during peak “drop off” and “pick up” times as we have numerous students being transported on a daily basis. We ask that parents not “drop off” or “pick up” students in the rear of the building. This lot is for faculty and staff and for emergency vehicles only. We need this area clear for athletic shuttle busses to west campus.
