The Lake Forest High School Chess Team participated in the recent IHSA State Chess Team Tournament
The tournament took place in mid February and the team results were 3 wins and 4 losses. Two of the losses were very close! Several Senior players had very notable individual performances: Jeremy Berman at board 1 went undefeated through seven matches with five wins and two draws. His score placed him in 9th position for board one out of 129 teams and he received a medal for his top-notch achievement! Graeme Murphey, at board 3, also performed well with four wins, two draws, and only one loss and earned 34th spot out of 129. Finally, Nate Balk at board 4 had five wins, one loss, and one draw to earn 15th out of 129! Great effort to the whole team!
