May 2008 HIGHLIGHTS
Great news! The Environmental Club won $500 for recycling 4 tons of paper
a month from October to March! The goal was 24 total tons of paper
recycled--we did 27.2, thanks to the Herculean efforts of teacher,
Tamar Cooney and her two dedicated National Honor Society recyclers!
The money will go back into the recycling program to purchase more
bins, can crushers, etc. Thanks also to all for recycling all the copy
paper, newspapers, magazines and catalogues.
March 2008 HIGHLIGHTS
The Environmental Club participated
in a waste audit at Lake Bluff Middle School on Wednesday, January
30. Club members are considering the possibility of conducting a waste
audit at the high school in order to improve LFHS’ recycling
efforts.
