Welcomes New JSA Chapters Lake Forest High School recently played host to the Junior State of America for what is often referred to as a “mini-con.” The mini-con, which allowed several new chapters to participate in their first JSA event, featured numerous debates and thought talks. New chapters in attendance included Ralph Ellison High School, Woodlands Academy, and Stevenson High School. Debates ranged from nuclear retaliation to space colonization, and the day was finished off by a highly enjoyable debate which proposed that Harry Potter as the greatest epic hero of all time. Lake Forest won the award for Best Chapter Performance and Ralph Ellison won the award for Best Chapter Attendance. Even though the JSA year is still young, the mini-con reflected well on the expansion efforts put in by the Midwest Territory this year. |
