Scholastic Bowl is an IHSA recognized team for academic competition.  Teams of five students play against teams from other schools in matches that include both individual and team questions.  If you enjoy trivia, are a good student, and are interested in joining Scholastic Bowl, please contact Mark Kuhl in the social studies department or at mkuhl@lfschools.net or Andrea Lemke in the mathematics department or at alemke@lfschools.net.  Practices as well as most competitions are Wednesdays after school.

Are you a student who loves to watch Jeopardy?  Do you amaze your friends and family with your knowledge in numerous areas such as literature, science, history, foreign language, and/or mathematics?  Does your brain hold on to trivia that you hear or read?  Then THIS may be a team for you to join!

SCHOLASTIC BOWL is an activity in which you can have a lot of fun competing academically in a team of five against groups from other schools.  Some questions are individual, and some are collaborative.  Come out for our first practice on September 7 at 3:20 in room 385.  Bring a friend too, try your skills using the buzzers, and match your knowledge.  All LFHS students are welcome, freshmen through seniors.  We'd especially welcome folks who are strong in their knowledge of literature, but all clever people are valuable!  We practice on Wednesdays (3:20 – 4:45) from September through February, with most competitions also falling on Wednesdays.  Come try it out!!  (If you miss the first practice, come any Wednesday.)  We always have snacks!!  See or email Mr. Kuhl (social studies) or Mrs. Lemke (mathematics) with any questions.
