College Bound Opportunities (CBO) Scholarship             December 2011

Lake Forest High School is pleased to announce that it will be participating for the 2nd year in a scholarship program for LFHS juniors who would like to attend a four-year college. The College Bound Opportunities (CBO) program is a scholarship program for students who need financial assistance and could use the help of a mentor to guide them through the college application process and through their four years of college.  High school juniors are selected for this program through an application and interview process.

Applications are due on Friday, January 6, 2012.

The general criteria for this program are:

• A household income of not more than $60,000 for a family of four, barring any extraordinary circumstances.
• A minimum grade point average of  3.8.
• A critical need for a mentor to help guide the student through the college process and through the student’s four years of college.

The CBO scholarship program relies on the generous financial support and volunteer mentors from the local community.   For more information about becoming a volunteer mentor in this program or to pick up an application, please contact Kathy O’Hara at 582-7774 or kohara@lfschools.net.
