This year we will be offering a program for parents and/or students called “College Readiness 101” on Saturday, April 17 from 8:30 am -12:00 pm. This will be a series of mini seminars to provide additional information to parents and students as they prepare to make good college and career decisions.

Merry Quinn, Director of Student Services, Kathy O’Hara, and other high school professionals, will conduct these sessions on topics such as “how to write a good essay,” “how to plan a college visit,” “the application process,” “how to choose what colleges may be the best fit,” “NCAA Clearinghouse and the student athlete,” “financial aid,” “career exploration,” and more.

College Readiness 101 is hosted by LFHS's Student Services Counseling Department on Saturday, April 17 from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm at Lake Forest High School, East Campus located at 1285 N. McKinley Road, Lake Forest.  This is an opportunity for parents and students (all ages) to learn more about the various aspects of the college and career process.  It is never too early to start collecting information about this important part of the high school process. Participants may attend one or more of the timely sessions offered. LFHS Faculty members will be presenting along with LFHS graduate Peg Hendershot, Director of Career Vision and a representative from the Financial Aid office of Lake Forest College. This is open to the community and no RSVP is required.  Please join in on these informational sessions.
