Emotional Wellness Initiative

Congratulations to LFHS on being selected as a 2011 Promising Practices award winner!

The Character Education Partnership (CEP) has selected LFHS’s practice, "Health and Wellness for Life (Freshmen class)," to serve as a model for others to possibly replicate and integrate into their character education initiatives.

At Lake Forest High School we positively represent our community.  As Scouts we value strong character and ethical actions as opposed to social status. Scouts are accountable for their actions and do the right thing even when no one is watching.  Our students and staff embody integrity, empathy, acceptance, and responsibility/ accountability.  By addressing our problems, asking for help when we need it, and extending a hand to others, we strive not only to be better students and staff members, but better people.

Special thanks to the LFHS graphic design classes who created posters for the Emotional Wellness Initiative with APT supporting the reproduction of these posters, both for individual teacher rooms and for general placement around the school

Faculty Vision Statement

Emotional Wellness is an initiative threaded throughout the building curriculum and school community, which focuses on each student as a whole person - emotional intelligence and relational skills as well as intellectual and physical development. Students will learn and practice the skills and self-understanding needed for responsible choices and healthy lives.
