Learn more about how to support and donate to
further this vision! Donated funds will be used to broaden and strengthen our student support; parent, faculty, and student education; and emotional wellness programs in the immediate future and through years ahead.
In 2006, LFHS embarked on an Emotional Wellness Initiative with the goal of building a more unified and supportive school community. This initiative was founded on the principles of acceptance, empathy, integrity and responsibility/accountability.
In an effort to celebrate these principles, LFHS will hold an all-school walk on May 21, 2012. On May 21, 2012 students and teachers will take a break to enjoy some time together as well as give thanks to retiring faculty and graduating seniors. Students have chosen “Enjoy the Journey” as the logo for this year’s emotional wellness walk. On May 21, there will be shortened classes and the walk will begin around 9:50. Students will be walking with their third period classes and teachers. They will follow a 2 mile route that loops north into Lake Bluff and then south to end the walk along the front drive of the high school. Following the walk, a celebration will be held on the front lawn. Students can enjoy music, games and treats during their normal lunch period. The fun on the lawn will end at the close of 6th period. Committees composed of students, faculty and parents have been formed to coordinate the emotional wellness walk in the following areas: T-Shirts, food, games, walk route, music and volunteers. These committees are looking for additional volunteer help. Please contact the APT representatives Sheri Passalino at sheripassalino@aol.com or Cathy Dohnalek at cathydohnalek@aol.com if you are interested in participating in this very special event. Thank you.
