THE PRESIDENT’S VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARD
February E-Highlights 2011

Tuesday, April 12, 2011 is the annual Student Service Recognition Night ceremony.  One of the awards that will be presented at this ceremony is the President’s Volunteer Service Award, which is a nationally recognized service award sponsored through the White House and the Points of Light Foundation.

This award is based solely on the number of service hours completed by a student within a year’s time.  Our year runs from March 15, 2010 through March 15, 2011. There are three levels of recognition:  Bronze for 100 hours; Silver for 175 hours; and Gold for 250 hours or more.

Only students who have recorded their hours with the Student and Community Service Office will be eligible to receive one of these awards.   Students should record their volunteer hours on this online recording form.

For questions about eligibility for the President’s Volunteer Service Award or to request a copy of your previously recorded volunteer service hours, please contact Kathy O’Hara, the Student Service/Community Coordinator, at kohara@lfschools.net or 847-582-7444, or come and visit her in room 103C.
